We all have the option to hide under a beach umbrella. Swim season can be uncomfortable. When you don’t achieve whatever “beach body” standard you’ve established in your mind, you feel like you’re going to be judged when you slip off your caftan.

People might judge you at the beach. But as we all know, when people sit there criticizing others, it’s not really about the people they’re criticizing, it’s about themselves. As the old adage goes, hurt people hurt people.

Some people feel uncomfortable when they see a woman out there, living at full amplitude and enjoying her summer regardless of how “perfect” or imperfect her body is. That’s because those people really aren’t comfortable with their own bodies, but it’s easier to direct that criticism outward at other people than to deal with their own body issues.

But by the same logic, free people free people. So that leaves you with a choice. Do you want to spend your summer catering to the haters, to the unhappy people who will probably never be satisfied, no matter what you or anyone else does?

Or do you want to be the woman that lights up the pool deck with her confidence?

When you get out there and rock your #swimbody you aren't just liberating yourself. You're also liberating all the women around you who might be hesitating to rock their own body without shame.

You have the power to be someone else’s super hero this summer! Wouldn’t you rather do that than cave to other people’s insecurities?

Don’t hide under your light under a caftan this swim season. Be the woman who other women look at and think, "If she can do it, I can do it too!"
